Painting and bikes are my two loves.

The idea for The Blue Bike art came from a desire to hone & share my passion for watercolor, while at the same time using it to fuel my other passion for cycling.

My name is Annie, and I’m a watercolor artist, podcast host, video creator, and aspiring children’s book author/illustrator. During free time when I am not riding my bike, painting has been an enjoyable way to relax, hone new skills, and share stories.

The rats that I often feature in my paintings and stories are inspired by my own sweet pets, and I always want to be changing the stigma that "rats are gross."

When I first began, I named this venture after my blue mountain bike. While riding trails around the blue ridge mountains of western North Carolina, I could take inspiration from the local flora and fauna, translating that beauty to paper when I got back home.

Today, my husband and I have relocated to Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan, where I continue to find inspiration in the beautiful natural setting of this area.

Thank you for stopping by the Blue Bike - I hope you enjoy!
