The Little Prince Book Challenge

On February 27, 2023, #thelittleprincebookchallenge began on Instagram, with 7 prompts chosen by a handful of artists hosting.

I decided to interpret the prompts with a rat as my little prince, and you can see my 7 illustrations below.

Day 1:

On the morning of his departure, the little prince carefully cleaned out his active volcanoes, watered the flower for the last time, and prepared to place her under the shelter of glass.”

Day 2:

"The first asteroid was crammed and obstructed by the king's magnificent ermine robe."

Day 3:

"The fifth planet was the smallest of them all, there was just enough room for a street-lamp and a lamplighter."

Day 4:

“The little prince was beginning to feel afraid he'd come to the wrong planet, when a coil of gold, the colour of moonlight, flashed across the sand."

Day 5:

"One never knows where to find the humans," said the flower to the prince. “The wind blows them away. They have no roots, and that makes their life very difficult.”

Day 6:

"You have hair the colour of gold," said the fox, "the grain, which is also golden, will bring me back the thought of you, and I shall love to listen to the wind in the wheat."

Day 7:

"As the little prince dropped off to sleep, I took him in my arms and set out walking once more...it seemed to me I was carrying a very fragile treasure."
